Free quad biking; target paintball, pigs, Ladies Lunch and music this weekend

SEPTEMBER 09

What’s coming up?

FREE QUAD BIKING AT BOGBAIN….
We’re going to be doing quite a make over on both the junior and senior quads circuits over the next few weeks. Our new instructor Gavin will be increasing the challenges, thrills and spills of both courses. Look out for our special deal this autumn – you go free if you book yourself and five other mates on the hour long adult sessions. Ask at reception for further details. Booking essential

The return of Target paintball
We had all sorts of plans for the polytunnel but people just kept asking for target paintball, so it’s coming back! New targets, challenges and prizes all available.

Music @ Bogbain
Our free Sunday music sessions will be on the 18th October. You are all very welcome to come along and sing, play or just listen. Anything from 3 to 15 musicians and singers have been known to turn up to these sessions. To ensure a seat and an afternoon of great free music make sure you book a table for lunch which starts from 12.30. Priority seating to those who have lunch.

Room to let

We have converted Arteze into 2 smaller units, one of which is now available to rent by the hour for everything from toddler groups, beauty therapy, photography, classes etc. We already have interest from a ceramics teacher who is keen in running open classes towards the end of October – if anybody is keen to partake, or in renting the space, please call Louise on 01463 772803 for more information

Ladies Lunch

Our popular Ladies Lunch club returns. This is an open club to any lady who enjoys a lunchtime repast and the conviviality such a meeting engenders. Each month we put on a two course lunch with coffee and tea followed by a guest speaker. These have ranged from the Head of BBC Scotland to massage therapists to life coaches! This month’s lunch will be on Monday 26th October at 12.30. (Men may only be admitted with the supervision of a lady!)Please ring to book a table.

Animal additions
You may notice that we have a few new arrivals to Bogbain this summer. Two rather large ladies arrived in late August, Mrs Tubbs and Tabitha – Vietnamese pot bellied pigs with attitude! Nick Martin our “animal” man got these lovely creatures. One was actually so overweight that she was blinded by a roll of fat over her eyes! They’re on a strict diet and exercise plan now! We’ve also introduced new hens to our flock – we’re still not entirely sure what type they are – they’re very exotic looking !
We’ll be posting pictures up on our myspace – maybe someone can tell us what they are!

Hello and goodbye
A great big welcome to our new cook – Dawn House. Dawn has already made herself very popular by producing the best scones we reckon any of us have ever tasted. Dawn is a great believer in home cooking in a traditional style (although she does like a chilli or two!) Her cakes have already been ordered by customers for special occasions.
We will also be starting an outside catering service for functions and meetings. So if you require food for an event and you want something that little bit different just give us a call

And a goodbye to Lorraine Ross who has moved on to become manager of the new Steak Academy. A big thanks to Lorraine for all her hard work and we wish her all the best with her new venture.
